Customer Critiques
Ok I did not buy this on Amazon, I got it at a neighborhood expo show and paid a small far more but it is the similar heli. This is a pretty good helicopter and regardless of other evaluations appears to be very durable. To give an instance I have crashed a lot of instances, such as into the ground, into a tree, a telephone pole, a steel automotive lift (the points that lift cars in mechanic shops), though I have a couple of dents and dings in the rotors they are nonetheless solid and it still flies. The balance bar bent as nicely but I just bent it back and all is nicely. I would call that pretty great considering some of the significantly more high dollar helis like my friend has the rotor will shatter upon make contact with with a solid surface.
There is a finding out curve to flying this. Just simply because it is a gyro copter, dont feel that you can just take it out and fly with out crashing. I had a hard time gaining off the ground for the to begin with day, ground effect came in and created it go left every single time. Soon after some practice and messing with the trim tabs on day two I got really great at it. It is affected by wind but ALL helicopters are. This is to involve real helicopters. Not something I normally bring up but in this case it could support, I use to be on a flight line with the AH-64A and AH-64D on a regular basis, I also worked on the guidance systems and weapons. Wind has a dramatic influence on a large heli so compact winds can and will knock an RC to the ground. To start off understanding either do it on a day with no wind or come across a fitness center/auditorium to begin.
Battery time is not bad, I get about 15 minutes per charge, it takes about 2.five hrs to recharge the battery. I just ordered five much more batteries here on amazon so that I can get about an hour or a lot more of play time just before getting to wait on a charge. General I am happy with the purchase and truly am going to get a single for my buddy who paid more than 400 on his Pro heli that is too challenging to get off the ground. I figure use these a finding out tool then get to the larger significantly more advanced four - 6 channel helis.
Once more just a suggestion, but get good with it at about 1.five - 2 ft off the ground first. Its harder to fly closer to the ground considering that of ground effects so if you can get fantastic close to the ground you must have no challenges greater in the air.
For the cost, you truly get a fairly decent piece of hardware. That getting stated, there are a handful of modifications I would make before use. It says prepared to fly on the box, and fly it will... how well is unquestionably open to debate. The initial factor is to take away the canopy, loosen the battery, and slide it most of the way forward, then tighten the mounting bracket down once again. This will move the center of gravity forward. This is crucial given that with no carrying out this, you literally cannot fly forwards. Other mods to raise maneuverability are to shorten the tail boom, slide the landing skids forward (very easy), and replace the rear tail rotor with one particular of these: [...]
Soon after replacing the rear rotor you will have to move the rear stabilizers up on the boom to make area for the larger blades.
A further mod that assists a lot is to replace the battery with a larger a single, like a 15c 7.4v 3000mah. This also improves the flight characteristics by growing weight in the nose, and more than all (less probably to be batted about by the wind)
Make sure to acquire a complete set of replacement parts. You will want them... the helicopter is tough, dont get be wrong (I have crashed from 40+ feet with tiny to no damage) but there are breakable parts like the blade holders. (they are affordable, order a hand complete)
And here is a link to a forum which has a lot of fantastic information about how to make this beneficial little chopper a superb a single. For the price, its actually a awesome deal.

A lot of persons appear to knock this helicopter for the reason that they don't ever want to perform on it. That is portion of the hobby... Enhancing and repairing the equipment. Its not all that complicated, and the parts are Cheap, which is a boon. There are numerous 'hobby grade' helicopters out there you could devote a lot a great deal more funds on that possibly fly much better and so on... but the price of maintainability goes WAY up. Contemplate that for an initial investment of ~$60 its fairly a hoot.
